Commercial and Finance Department.

The department is responsible for the following:

  • Managing financial systems which include revenue collection, debt collection, expenditure, cash flows, procurement, inventories’
  • Management and preparation of annual financial statements.
  • Managing commercial activities which includes, new connections, applications, meter reading, billing of connections and disconnections.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, financial projections for investment programmes
  • Budget control

Human Resource Department

The department is responsible for the following:

  • Human Resources planning and deployment.
  • Recruitment and selection, training and development.
  • Employee welfare, compensations and industrial relations.
  • Registry, mailing and security services.
  • Transport management

Internal Audit Department

The department is responsible for the following:

  • Develop, document, implement, test, and maintain a comprehensive internal audit plan and system of internal audit controls to help provide assurance that KANAWASCO policies and procedures are complied with
  • Examine financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with the policies of the Company
  • Evaluate financial and operational procedures to assure adequate internal controls are present
  • Identify, assess, and evaluate the Company’s risk areas; make appropriate recommendations for improved internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Identify key business risks, assess those risks, and establish risk management procedures
  • Prepare necessary reports for Audit Committee

Technical Services Department

The department is responsible for the following:

  • Production and distribution of quality water.
  • Operation and maintenance of infrastructure i.e. assets, treatment plants pipeline.
  • Carrying out technical audits and taking remedial action to optimize resource utilization.
  • Rehabilitation of water and sewerage facilities.
  • Supervision of construction works.
  • Preparation of development plans, action plans and budgets.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of company wide -performance

Information and Communication Technology Department

The department is responsible for the following:

  • Participate in preparation and implementation of the strategic plan.
  • Develop new software and improve the existing one.
  • Coordinate the development and review of the management information system.
  • Maintenance of all the electronic records.
  • Provide overall support of management and communication activities in the company.
  • Develop and maintain a suitable ICT strategy and company’s website.

Procurement Department

The department is responsible for the following:

  • Advice the Management on all procurement matters relating to its activities
  • Take overall responsibility for all aspects of procurement within organization including the design and deployment of policies procedures and systems required for the effective implementation of the same.
  • Ensure documentation and certification of all procurement Reports are in line with PPOA Act of 2015.
  • Timely preparation of consolidated annual procurement reports in a format and quality acceptable for audit purposes.
  • Develop the core reports required for statutory and project reporting and ensure that there is organizational compliance with respect to dates, format and substance of the said reports.
  • Maintain co-ordination of project activities and be responsible for following up with executive committee (management) in the achievement of all projects related procurement targets for value of money.

He holds a Masters degree from University of Eldoret, and a B.Sc Environmental Science (with IT) from Maseno University.
He has served as Director at the Department of Lands, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change of the County Government of Nandi. He has done Senior Management course at Kenya School of Government and is registered Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) expert.

He is the CEO of the Company and Secretary to the Board of Directors

Diploma in Water Engineering.

Senior Inspector and Area Manager in the National Water Conservation & Pipeline Corporation.

Representative – Augmentation of Kapsabet Water Supply project funded by JICA.

Currently, Technical Manager.

ICT Officer / Ag. Head of Nandi Hills Scheme

Holds a Masters of Environmental Engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai City, China.

Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science (with IT), Maseno University.

Has Certificate in Climate Change Policy, Planning and Budgeting at the National and County Level, Kenya School of Government (KSG).

Has served in the meter reading, revenue and billing sections of the company.

He is a Certified Human Resource Practitioner in Kenya.

Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management (Catholic University of Eastern Africa – CUEA), Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management (Alexandria Training Institute – Eldoret), Advanced Diploma in Business Management and a Diploma in Business Administration (Eldoret Polytechnic).

Has served as Payroll Manager at the County Government of Nandi.
