Kapsabet Nandi Water and Sanitation Company Ltd (KANAWASCO) is a Corporate entity incorporated by the Municipal Council of Kapsabet in December 2006 under the Companies Act CAP 486 of the Laws of Kenya and entered into water service provision agreement for provision of water and sanitation services to the former Kapsabet Municipality and its environs with the then Lake Victoria North Water Services Board in accordance with the provisions of the Water Act, 2002. Its ownership moved to the County Government of Nandi after the promulgation of the new Constitution.

The County Government of Nandi is the sole shareholder of the Company. The Company is licensed by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB).

Service Areas

The company has 8 zones in Kapsabet and 1 Zone in Nandi Hills.  Areas receiving water daily – Zones 2, 3, 4 and some parts of Zones 1 and 7.  Areas on rationing programme – Zones 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8.  Town Centre, Prison, Namgoi Centre, East View, Chebarbar, Irimis, Showground and Surungai receive water on daily basis; while for the remaining routes a day is skipped for the supply of water.

Customer’s Rights

Customer’s Responsibilities

Equally, customers have the responsibility to:

  • Pay water and sewerage bills and any other charges promptly
  • Settle all outstanding bills before vacating premises
  • Use water and sanitation services economically and efficiently and for in-tended purposes

Notice is hereby given that Kapsabet Nandi Water and Sanitation Company Ltd has adjusted the water services tariff as per notice of adjustment granted by the regulator, Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) in Gazette Notice No. 10547 of 2023. Please take note this adjustment will been effected in your bill for October, 2023.
